Baby back fan, also called baby back straps, is straps with which minority women used to carry their baby on the back when going to the market or working in the field. Baby back fan is not only an article of utility, a shield to protect young baby, but also a close ink between mothers and their children. Baby back fan, which is exquisite in workmanship, simplicity in design, gorgeous in color and original in shape, not only highlights the greatness of maternal love and master-hand of local women, but also records stories of ancestors and history of a nationality. The exhibition is a central showcase to culture and art of southwest minority. The works on this show are selected from 1770 pieces of donation of Li Huizhen, vice chairperson of Hong Kong Fuhui Education foundation. These works, which come from 8 minorities of Guizhou, Guangxi and Yunnan, are valuable intangible cultural heritage of our country.
