Sponsored by the Publicity Department of Fujian Provincial Party Committee of CPC, Fujian Provincial Literary Federation and the National Art Museum of China, "Beautiful Haixi - Fujian Provincial Contemporary Art Exhibition (Jin Jing)" is currently on display at Hall 1, 2, 4, 6 and 8 since August 8 until August 15. It is the largest artistic exhibition at the highest level from Fujian province held in the country’s capital since founding of the People’s Republic of China. 

Located along the coast of Southeast China, Fujian province has picturesque scenery and a great variety of resources. Meanwhile, the province boasts profound culture and numerous artists in the history, including Zheng Sixiao, Zengjing, Huang Shen and Chen Zifen. The remarkable cultural accomplishments have exerted far-reaching influence generation after generation and played an important in carrying forward and developing the local art.

The exhibition comprises a total of 221 works by the local artists in Fujian, covering a wide range of categories from the traditional Chinese painting, the oil painting and the lacquer painting to the printmaking, watercolor pastels and sculptures. The exhibits representing the current level of the local art creation, provide an overview and an important reflection of the creation. 

The exhibits are to expand the artistic space through the original concepts and the creative techniques or reflect the colorful life from the personal perspective and the unique method and have added a wonderful rainbow in the flourishing contemporary Chinese art.
