Following the two successful exhibitions called Living Landscapes: A Journey through the German Art and Gerhard Richter’s Paintings 1963-2007 in the National Art Museum of China, an exposition entitled Living China’s garden: from illusion to reality was unveiled in Pillnitz, a famous historical construction in Dresden, Germany on June, 27, 2008.
The show comprising nearly 70 items by more than 40 artists, covers a great variety of the contemporary artistic categories, such as painting, photography, sculpture, ceramics, device, new media, design and architecture. It reflects the extension of the different elements in the Chinese garden in the field of the contemporary visual art and architecture, namely, the recreation of the architect, designers and the artists in the concept and the language of the gardens.
